Breadman Round II July 14, 2010 Z Any Mouse (CA) This is the second time I have owned a Breadman 2lb Breadmaker. I used my previous one for 4 1/2 years, 2-3 times a week. I made bread and countless dough recipes. Once in a while I would have a fail, but most likely that was due to pilot error. I had to replace it because the paddle mechanism eventually rusted out, and I was unable to find a replacement pan, despite an extensive search. Having previously owned a Hitachi and a Panasonic, I found the Breadman was far superior. For me, the secret trick is to let the ingredients sit in the breadpan 2 hours before turning it on, so they get up to room temperature. I do wash and dry the breadpan as soon as it's cooled down enough, to reduce it's exposure to moisture. I did look into changing brands, but decided on getting the Breadman once again because of it's dependability and cost value.
...going off to make pizza dough now...
Can't get parts July 10, 2010 L. H. Witherspoon 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Decent enough bread. However, we lost the mixing paddle from a newer machine, purchased a few months ago, and so far all we have been told is that the part is on backorder. For six weeks. We called the phone number for replacement and should have realized that being given no "order number" was bad news. And we've paid for the part already.
I love my bread machine July 5, 2010 Chen Zhu (Kirkland, WA USA) It's easy to make and I usually use it just to mix the flour. A wonderful addition to my tools in the kitchen. A little noisy, but it doesn't bother me at all.
bread machine June 24, 2010 laurie nelson (MONTGOMERY, MN, US) works perfect! came in 4 days not the 16 that it said it would take
that was the best part.
thank so much!
Bad locking to keep the pan in place June 17, 2010 Jessica I have had this bread machine for a year and a half, I make 3 loaves of bread a week for the past 4 years. So I know what I am doing when it comes to making bread in a bread machine. It makes wonderful bread, if you leave the bread in for a long time after the baking cycle it doesn't get dried out or burnt.
It does have some major flaws though. Most of the time I use it now I have to wedge something into the medal things that hold the pan locked in place. Almost every time I use it the pan pops back out. It gets very frustrating having to fix it constantly. It makes wonderful bread, but I can't wait to get rid of the machine, it causes huge amounts of frustration. They really need to fix the design of the lock. I didn't do this that often the first year I had it, but after that it is almost every time I bake bread.
